We'd like to express our gratitude to the over 450 people from 28 countries that have participated in the final conference of the LIFE EuroLargeCarnivores project on March 16th 2022, with particular thanks to the presenters and participants of the plenary.
You can find the recording of this event below. We've also pasted all the hyperlinks from that event below, and recommend you to have a look at our Layman's Report or more material on the different sections as described on the project homepage.
Biodiversity isn't functioning without large carnivores.
— Martin Hojsík, Member of the European Parliament
Killing of wolves is no alternative to implementing coexistence measures.— Humberto Delgado Rosa, European Commission
Our wolf and large carnivore policies require permanent follow up and adaptation, based on a permanent consultation with stakeholders and new developments and insights.— Dries Gorissen, Agency for nature and forests of the Flemish Government
We have to work for coexistence on the basis of the existing nature legislation, making the best use of the available tools and funding at both EU and national level.— Marco Cipriani, European Commission Directorate-General for Environment
Transnational exchange and collaboration are very helpful to objectivate and facilitate the consultation processes on a regional level. A joint project like the Benelux wolf territory map helped the cooperation and communication within the Benelux wolf management group.
